About Todd Communications

Todd Communications is an Alaska publisher and wholesale distributor of books, calendars, maps and other printed materials primarily featuring Alaska subject matter. We offer a full range of services to assist other publishing companies and self-publishers in editing, designing, printing and distributing books and other printed materials.

Founded in 1978 by president Flip Todd, former Anchorage Times, Anchorage Daily News and Washington Post reporter, to publish the Alaska Directory of Attorneys, Todd Communications has since published numerous Alaska-related titles including children’s books, cookbooks, field guides, fiction and non-fiction.

The 16-person company is also Alaska’s primary wholesale book distributor, selling to hundreds of stores and other accounts throughout the 49th state, the Lower 48 and overseas. We wholesale more than 2,000 titles including children’s books, cookbooks, Alaska history, biography, aviation, native culture, dog mushing, murder mysteries, humor and other Alaska-related materials. We also distribute more than 50 Alaska maps, 20 calendars and hundreds of note cards. The company operates warehouses and sales staff in Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Todd Communications’ wholly owned subsidiary, Alaska Print Brokers, prints books for its own account and many publishers throughout Alaska and the Lower 48. We specialize in high-quality books for photographers and fine artists with all types of bindings including hardbound, board book and comb, as well as traditional perfect binding. We use several dozen printers in Alaska, Asia, and the Lower 48 to meet customer needs with regard to quality, price and delivery time.
