​This collection of essays honors beloved Alaska historian Terrence Cole upon his retirement. Contributors include former students and colleagues whose personal and professional lives he has touched deeply. The pieces range from appreciative reflections on Cole’s contributions in teaching, research, and service, to topics he encouraged his students to pursue, plus pieces he inspired directly or indirectly. Frank Soos is professor emeritus in English at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He is the author of two collections of short fiction, Early Yet and Unified Field Theory, and two collections of essays, Bamboo Fly Rod Suite and Unpleasantries.
Mary F. Ehrlander is professor of history at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and director of the Arctic and Northern Studies Program. Her books include Seventeen Years in Alaska, also from the University of Alaska Press.
