Organized by the American Museum of Natural History of New York this book is subtitled, The Photography of the Jesup North Pacific Expedition, 1897-1902. This historical collection of 60 b&w photographs is part of the research conducted during a five-year expedition to Alaska and Siberia to examine the cultural and biological similarities and differences among the people living on both sides of the Bering Strait as well as northwest coastal Indians.
