Description
Subtitled, Industry and Politics on the Last Frontier (1898-1938), here is the story of three men (George Cheever Hazelet, Stephen Birch and David Henry Jarvis) who were prime movers in an early twentieth century battle for control of Alaska’s land and resources. They formed the Morgan-Guggenheim Alaska Syndicate with the backing of New York investors, which built the Kennecott Copper Company and the Copper River & Northwestern Railway.
